I would like to welcome you to our website for the development of the Riverside County Wine Country Community Plan. The Third Supervisorial District of Riverside County, has embarked on an aggressive Community Plan to expand the present boundaries of Wine Country, address land use issues, set development standards specifically tailored for wineries, equestrian uses and residential development.

Description for the General Plan and Zoning Maps:

The General Plan Land Use and Zoning designation maps respectfully illustrate the most current land use and zoning designations (as of August 2009) within the Wine Country area. The Wine Country Region Land Use Designation Map depicts the area’s long range land use pattern, as envisioned by the community. Predominate land use designations of Rural Residential, Rural Community-Estate Density Residential and Agriculture reinforces the community’s rural character. The County Zoning Ordinance implements the goals of General Plan Land Use Element. It provides specific use and development standards for each zoning classification. The Wine Country Region Current Zoning Designation Map shows accommodations for a range of uses associated with Agricultural, Vineyard/Wineries, and Residential activities. Fore more information on the County Gerneral Plan and Zoning Ordinance refer to the Planning 101 page.

Ad Hoc Advisory Committee

The Riverside County Wine Country Community Plan is a significant undertaking that looks at all the issues affecting the development of the study area. These include but are not limited to circulation, land use designation and intensity, open space, agricultural development, development standards, infrastructure , design guidelines and finance mechanisms. As the County team is progressing with the various phases of the community plan it is the desire of Supervisor Stone to receive input on the various matters that are being addressed.
